4 Most Beautiful Stairs of San Francisco

If you have ever been to San Franciso you know its anything but flat. The steepest street has a gradient of a whopping 41% grade thats 22 degrees of slope.  It’s no surprise that the city is filled with a multitude of steps. Here are my favorite FOUR.

  1. 16th Ave Tiled Steps: The 16th Avenue Tiled Steps project is a neighborhood collaboration to create a stars themed mosaic flowing up a 163 step stairway. And when the stairs are so beautiful you won’t even realize when you climbed all the way to the top. On a clear day, the view of the ocean from the top is breathtaking.tiled-steps-16th-Avenue-Tiled-Steps-San-Francisco-things-to-do16th-Avenue-tiled-steps-full-view-San-Francisco-things-to-do16th-Avenue-Tiled-Steps-San-Francisco-things-to-do
  2. Hidden Garden Steps : These steps are about a couple of blocks from the 16th Avenue Tiled steps. Hidden in between two houses (hence the name). These steps are not as famous which means fewer tourists and more time to admire the steps. Not to mention fewer people in your pictures!
  3. Lincoln Park Steps : The Lincoln Park Steps sit at the edge of Lincoln Park on the Western end of California Street and date back to the early 1900’s. Another lesser-known spot in the city, these stairs really add life to the surroundings when Karl The Fog takes over. 4. Lyon Street Steps : These steps are located in the heart of the city. Just being at the summit of these steps is a Zen experience. The cherry blossoms at their peak make this place smell heavenly. You can view the Palace of Fine Arts Dome, the gorgeous blue SF Bay & also Karl the Fog. Which steps are going to check out this weekend? Let me know in the comments below.

    1. Yes! They have an amazing view. Try going on a clear day. So that Karl the fog doesn’t spoil the view 😉
